I’ve actually come to the conclusion that people in Ontario, specifically in the GTA/Toronto area have no idea how to drive. I truly believe that people don’t know how to drive anymore. I earned my G2 license last July, but I remember my driving instructor telling me that how a person drives during the 15 minute test is what determines whether or not they get their license. In short, a person could be on their ‘best behaviour’ during the test, and once they pass, all hell breaks loose, and they are actually a horrible driver, despite what they showed during the test. As much as I understand that the government wants people to do these tests, it’s totally an inaccurate representation of a person’s actual driving skills. This theory answers the age old question that I’ve been asking whenever I see someone do an illegal and/or stupid maneuver on the road: ‘How did they get their license?’
I think what annoys me the most is when people don’t signal when changing lanes, or when they don’t signal in general. I also can’t stand it when people don’t check their blind spots when changing lanes either. Yes, mirrors are useful but even the mirror misses a chunk of car that our eyes just cannot see, the car in your blind spot.
Anyways, that was my quick rant on driving. Ciao.
So I’ve officially decided that I’m going to start updating this site frequently. I know I’ve said it a hundred times before, but no, really, this time I mean it. I’ve found myself feeling stressed out lately, and I’ve also been extremely bored this summer, so I figured that I should put my time into something. I’ve decided that I want to use this as a blog, a place where I can rant about whatever I want. I truly miss coding, blogging, and webdesign as a whole. It’s time to get myself back.
I just want to thank my host for putting up with my constant delays. I’m extremely lazy, but I promise I will change!
I guess I should take the time to give a brief life update. Okay so in November I began dating my boyfriend John Leonard. He composes music and is the sweetest person ever. If you’re reading this John, just know that I love you to bits! :3 Hmm, what’s next? Oh yes, well I’ve officially completed grade 12, and I’m now attending University of Toronto (Scarborough Campus) in September for Sociology. I’m absolutely pumped! I also turned 18 on July 6. It feels weird being an adult, but maybe I’ll actually like it. Who knows.
So yeah, that was a brief life update, and I’ll be ranting about stuff in just a little while. I also am planning on having a theme update soon… I’m getting bored of these colours, it’s been a year.
Hello!
So it’s been over four months since I have last updated, and even though nobody actually reads this stuff, I do apologize immensely. I’ve been extremely busy with both school, work, and friends to the point where my site has actually gone to waste for the most part. It’s pretty depressing but hopefully once Christmas break and exams are done, I’ll be able to focus on my other hobbies (aka this website and drawing haha).
I’ve been in this weird mood as of lately to paint, and it’s weird because I actually hate painting with a passion. Not only am I horrible at it, I just run out of patience very quickly. Anyways, this was just a quick, yet rather boring update.. but I just thought I’d let my host know that I’m still alive. Stressed, but alive.
Peace!
Summer has been busy for me so far. I did have about a 10 day break, but on July 5 to the 30th I was stuck in summer school. Six hours a day of the same subject is never fun, but it was accelerated which was why it was a month long. The course that I took was called Family Studies. It was an anthropology-type course, and I found it very interesting. I learned about the different kinds of families that exist, why families are needed, the history of family, etc. I ended up getting an 85% in the class, and I was certainly very happy about that.
In July, I also got my driver’s license, the G2. In Ontario we have Graduated Licensing, which sucks because it takes forever. You go from having a G1 (which is obtained by completing a written test), then a G2 (which is basically your full license, you can drive alone just not during the hours of 12am-5am), and then finally your G (which allows you to drive anytime by yourself, etc). Why does it take forever? Well, you basically have to wait at least a year in order to get the next license. However, you can get your G2 within 8 months if you take driving school. Either way though, I’m just happy to be able to drive alone. Next step is getting a car haha. I’m pretty sure I’ll need one ;D
So I guess my summer has basically started just now. It kinda sucks but I’m trying to enjoy it. I can’t believe that school is less than a month away, it’s scary really. Highschool really did go by fast. I’m entering my senior year and I really can’t believe it. I’m taking it easy, earning some money, and just enjoying what’s left of my summer. I hope everyone does the same!
Peace!
I’m still here, busy but here!
“If you’re complaining now, just wait until University,” my mother tells me as she hears me complain about my 28293 assignments. This routine has become almost permanent. It’s been like this for the past three weeks at least.
I had four ISU’s this year. In case you’re wondering what those are, it means Individual Study Unit. In short, it’s basically a project that your teacher gives you that can be worth anywhere from 5% to 10% of your grade. I’m currently working on one for Media Studies that is worth 30% since there isn’t an exam for that class. I had just completed two ISU’s, and then bam, I get two more to complete. Mind you, I have over two weeks to get them done.. I’m just lazy. I’ve been wanting to work on them but I had two major tests this week so I was focusing on studying for those. My plan after tomorrow is to work on my Media Studies ISU. It doesn’t seem too hard, all we have to do is analyze a music video. I chose What You Waiting For by Gwen Stefani because it’s one of my favourite songs. After I complete that, the plan is to start up my Comm Tech ISU. For that one, we have to recreate a piece of artwork using Illustrator. Have I mentioned my intense hatred towards that program? I just dread the thought of even using it.
Apart from those awful things, I’ve been doing the usual. Working out, coding the site, listening to music, and of course working. On a sidenote, I hope everyones long weekend went well. The break was nice, but unfortunately it is back to reality.
Hello and welcome to Epic.
It’s funny because when I was creating the site name, I realized that I said the word ‘epic’ way too many times a day. I decided that it would fit the site since I believe that site names should be based on something about yourself. I guess it’s sort of ironic since the site currently isn’t all that ‘epic’, but rest assured I’m sure it will get better in due time.
I always like to start off my first blog post as a little introduction about myself and the site. I guess I’ll start here. I go by the name, Steph. I absolutely love web design as well as graphic design. I’ve been fascinated by both since the 6th grade when I started. I guess I’ve been doing this for about 5 years. I’ve been hosted by Misaki and I’m so greatful. You can check out her site which is featured at the bottom of the page. I’m trying to put up a better layout, but I guess this is okay for now. I’m also trying to work on the sidebar a bit more and obviously I’ll be adding more pages.

Just starting up the site, and I’m hoping to have my own theme up soon.
